Jerusalem’s Week of Harmony

At the Elijah Institute of Jerusalem, we have become accustomed over the years to images of different sides of stories that intertwine and religions that meet. The Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem framed this day of friendship and passionate dialogue.

During the week of harmony, celebrated around the world. was an opportunity to meet everyone, pilgrims and Jerusalemites, of the Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths. Three hundred events worldwide that witness to peace and sharing.

But in the Holy City, a gesture of this magnitude is even more distinctive, as is often the case here for interfaith dialogue initiatives.

Sharing their knowledge to promote peace is the common thread that has guided meditations, songs and prayers. Passersby could see a Catholic priest with a Jewish rabbi, a Muslim faithful embracing a Christian and so on. As if it were the most normal thing in the world.
