Students will perform a number of exercises designed to improve his or her eye and hand skills, in order to study the environment at several different scales of focus: from a vision of the landscape as a whole to the details on the bodies of its tiny residents. Students will learn about and select an insect/plant relationship and compose detailed pencil and pen and ink drawings as well as color sketches. Graphic design and various medium techniques for developing personal sketchbooks are demonstrated.
